Scenario for a Crystal, Solo exhibition at Walzwerk Null Düsseldorf, 2015
With the mixed media installation Scenario for a Crystal, Stefanie Pluta embarks on an artistic research trip to the Central Alps in Switzerland. The starting point is the so called Indergand crystal - a large, particularly balanced, shimmering smoky quartz group - on whose traces she follows questions about aesthetic elements of materiality, appearance and texture as well as its location, symbolic power and staging. Nature photographs, which immerse in the alpine world , scale drawings of a mountain massif and glass cabinets form a topography that approach the absent protagonist.
